The causes and conditions of sandstorms

2018-09-03  |   Editor : houguangbing

Sandstorm is an interaction of wind and sand in the severe weather phenomenon. Its formation has an integral relationship with the earth greenhouse effect, the El Nino phenomenon, deforestation, vegetation destruction, species extinction, climate anomalies and other factors.

Among them, excessive exploitation, excessive deforestation and over-exploitation of land of natural resources caused by population expansion are the causes of frequent sandstorms. In addition, weather conditon that is advantageous to produce gale or strong wind, favorable sand, dust source distribution and favorable air instability are the main reasons for the formation of sandstorms or strong sandstorms.

Strong wind is the power of sandstorms and sand, dust source is the material base of sandstorms. Unstable thermal conditions are conducive to wind and strong convection development, thereby placing more sand and dust, and winding up higher.

In addition, the early drought and little rain, warmer weather and higher temperature are the special weather background of sandstorms. The convective monomers in front of the cold front of the ground devlop into cloud cluster or suqll line, which is conducive to the development of sandstorms and strengthening of the small scale system and terrain condition of the wind speed to increase, namely the narrow tipe effect, is one of the favorable conditions of the sandstorm formation.

The first one is the dust on the ground, which is the material basis for the formation of sandstorms.

The second one is the wind, which is the power base of sandstorm formation and the power guarantee for dust storms to transport over long distances.

The third one is the unstable air condition, which is an important local thermal condition. Sandstorm always happens afternoon, which shows the importance of local thermal conditions.
