In the spring of 1748, a farmer named Andres was deep digging in his vineyard. With a clank, he seemed to have found a huge rock, but could not pull out his hoe no matter how. He called his brother and sister-in-law for help. They removed the dirt and rocks and found that the hoe had penetrated a metal cabinet. After they managed to dig it out and opened it, they found a large pile of molten and semi-molten gold and silver jewelry as well as ancient coins.

As the news spread, it suddenly reminded the grape-growers on the land of the legend of Pompeii's disappearance, which had been handed down from their ancestors. So the thieves swarmed, and then a group of historians and archaeologists came to investigate. Later, the Italian government began organizing scientists to excavate Pompeii in an orderly manner in 1876, on the advice of experts. After more than one hundred years of continuous work by more than seven or eight generations of experts and the hard maintenance of thousands of staff, this thrilling scene of Pompeii was reborn to the world.
