There was an earthquakes in 7 degree occurred in the Tonghai and Eshan in Yunnan Province and the earthquake caused severe damage to the people in Tonghai, Eshan, Huaning and Yuxi. About 15621 people dead, 26783 people injured, 338465 houses collapsed, and more than 3 billion was lost directly because of the earthquakes.

The area of the disaster is 0.14 billion, the reduced flood is 96.5 billion kilometers and more than 1 million people in mountainous area in Hebei were lack of water.
A typhoon called 7220 landed in Hainan Province and Guangdong province in November 1972, the maximum wind was over 12 degree. About 0.928 million farmland and 4800 ships were be affected, more than 0.1 million houses collapsed, 4802 people dead and 1400 people injured by the typhoon.
