Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration and Ali cloud officially launched the first earthquake as the theme of the AI contest – post-earthquake capture AI contest in Yunxi Conference – Chengdu summit on May 23rd. The contest based on Ali cloud Tianchi contest platform makes a series of invitations to the world scientists to hope to use digital signal processing, time series analysis, machine learning and deep learning, which are the new emerging technologies and methods at home and abroad in recent years. The organizers look forward to take this opportunity to accurately and completely detecting the sequence of post-earthquake in time. Taking the Wenchuan earthquake for example, the organizers would provide continuous seismic data of more than 10 seismological stations around the Wenchuan earthquake area on six months before and after earthquakes, which source from Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration. Currently, there are 159 teams from the United States, Japan and China to sign up for the competition.
