How to do chest compressions

(1) Keep patient's head in a place that makes breath easier.

(2) Use the middle finger of one hand to find the patient's costal arch. Then slide up along the costal arch and under the patient's xiphoid process. Place the palm on the two horizontal fingers above the xiphoid process, and hold the palm of this hand, making sure that only one hand is placed on the patient's chest wall. Then, with the hip joint as the axis, use the waist to exert downward pressure. Note that rescuer's arm and the patient's chest must be kept at a right angle so that the strength can reach the heart. The frequency of pressing is 100 times per minute and the depth is 4-5 cm for an adult. The baby is 3 ~4 cm, the newborn is 1~2 cm. After 15 times presses, do two more artificial ventilations, then look again for the placement of chest compressions and do a second one. After 4 cycles, observe the patient again. If the patient still has no response, continue to do chest compressions and artificial ventilation in a ratio of 15:2 .

For drowning people, if he or she is found that breathing and heart rate has stopped, do not control the water first, you should immediately carry out regular CPR because water controlling will delay time.
