During this period, the majority of the middle and small part of the residents lived on hunting and fishing. In the south part, there were also few people are engaged in agriculture. Only six places in middle and south part have been recorded, they are: Changchun, Kaiyuan, Shenyang, Chaoyang, Dandong and Dalia, merely one of them, Changchun sat in Jilin province and none of them in Heilongjiang province. So these statistics cannot introduce the overall situation. What's more, the recorded years from 1470 to 1744 are also not completed, which can be seen in Table.1 below.

Table.1 the recorded years about flood and drought in Northeast of China from 1470 to 1744 unit: year

Century/Age 00-09 10-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70-79 80-89 90-99
14               3 4 6
15 6 5 8 7 5 7 6 4 5 3
16 4 2 3 4 4 7 6 3 6 7
17 4 4 6 8 4

We can see that only 141 years have been recorded during the 275 years, from 1470 to 1744, accouting for 51% of all years, that is to say, nearly half of all years have no statistics, and in some ten years, only two or three years have been recorded, during nearly 40 years from 1610 to 1649, merely 13 years have been mentioned which means that 68% of these forty years do not have any data. Thus, according to the gap of documents and the sparse distribution of data, these statistics can just be regarded as reference.
