“Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service” workshop, the session 22 of the International Conference on Silk Roads Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development (ICSRRSD 2019), will be held at China National Convention Centre, Beijing, China on the morning of May 12, 2019.

1. Theme and Topics:

Theme:

Frequent disasters have been a serious threat to human life and social development. Disaster prevention, disaster reduction and disaster relief are eternal subjects for human survival and development. It is imperative to build the global disaster database, and the reasonable and effective metadata standard or best practice is the premise for disaster database construction. This workshop will invite domestic and international experts in disaster risk reduction related fields, to discuss the issues about but not limited to metadata standard and best practice, data sharing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big data application, regional and national experiments for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).

4. Call for Extended Abstracts

We are pleased to invite you to be part of the International Conference on Silk-roads Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development (SiDRR conference) 2019 by presenting your relevant work related to all disciplines relevant to disasters, by submitting a two-page extended abstract of the respective presentation (Times New Roman 12 point font only). All submissions (extended abstract and the respective presentation) will be compiled and made available to attending participants.

Extended abstracts should be submitted through the conference website or via conference email (sidrr@imde.ac.cn), before December 20, 2018. Authors will be notified of all abstract/paper acceptances no later than January 30, 2019. Note that the extended abstract submitted to SiDRR conference 2019 will only be accepted after a rigorous peer-review process. Some of the selected extended abstracts will be encouraged to expand their contribution into a journal paper and with a recommendation for submission to international refereed journals.
