Wind shear is an important risk factor for aircraft taking off and landing, which can easily lead to accidents. On September 16, 2007, a Thai airways passenger jet skidded off the runway at Puji international airport in the south of the country. It broke into two pieces and burst into flames, killing 90 people and injuring 40 others. The results showed that "windshear" is responsible for the crash. "Windshear" caused the plane to fly off the runway when it was ready to land, and the pilot tried to fly again, but the plane was out of balance and out of the runway. So the tragedy happened.
The wind shear phenomenon has the characteristics of short time, small scale, strong intensity, which results in the detection, prediction, flight control, and a series of difficulties. This is a problem that is difficult to solve in the aviation meteorological. Therefore, the best way to deal with wind shear now is to avoid it because some strong wind shear, the performance of existing aircraft can resist. Train wind shear pilot and set up flight procedures, install wind shear change detection and alarm system at the airport, and the put wind shear detection, alarm, avoidance system on the plane. These are all currently the main ways to reduce and avoid wind shear damage.
