Because of ballrooms and karaoke halls are usually open at night so when a fire occurs, the first thing to think about is to escape quickly through a safe exit. It is particularly important to note that, since most ballrooms generally have only one safe exit, so in the process of escape, it is easy to lead to the blockage of safe exit once people are rushing out. At this time, the corresponding evacuation measures should be selected according to the situation. For ballroom and karaoke hall at the bottom of the building, you can directly jump out of the window; for those on the second or third floor, you can grasp windowsill and slip down to try to narrow the height, and let your feet reach the ground first (FIG. 2-7-2). The walls and ceilings of the ballroom, karaoke room are decorated with a large number of plastic fibers and other decorations, which tend to release toxic gases in case of fire. Therefore, in the process of escape, you should wet your clothes with water, cover your mouth and nose, and use low posture to walk or crawl to reduce the harm of smoke to the human body.
Every store is provided with indoor staircases, outdoor stairs and some are equipped with escalators and fire elevators. After a fire, especially in the early stages of a fire, these are good escape routes. Shopping malls and supermarkets are places with high concentration of articles so there are more available escape materials after a fire.
Effective organization is one of the keys to fight fire, especially in hotels, restaurants and other places, where are densely populated. The fire control room should be manned day and night to observe and record the work of instruments and equipment and handle fire alarm signal in time. All personnel in the building, once the fire is discovered, must report to the police in time, and promptly take measures to put out the fire.
In the case of emergent fire, it is necessary for the operators on each floor in hotels and restaurants to guide guests to move quickly and safely. In addition, the personnel on duty should organize the volunteer firefighters and staff to promptly go to the fireground to put out the fire.
Of course, at this time, the fire chief should also urgently turn off the air conditioning system, stop the air supply, close the fire door and open the smoke extraction equipment.
