The downstream of Yalu River, Hun River and Taizi River range
The main and branches of Yalu, Hunhe, Taizi River and Daliaohe belong to the downstream of the Yalu River. Floods often occurred at the same time because of the same rainstorm in these areas. There are several big deluges in this area in the history such as the flood in 1888, 1923, 1935, 1958, 1960 and 1995. The most of the peak discharge of these big deluges are top 4 in the list of all the stations’ flow and the magnitudes of the flood in these areas are very high.
The main stream and branches of Liao River and Ersong Huifa River
The main stream of Liaohe here refer to the main stream of the east Liaohe belowing Hekou and the branches mainly refer to the East Liaohe, Qing River, Chai River, and Fan River. These areas are one of the major centers of rainstorm. The rivers in these areas will have floods at the same time once there are downpower. The flood appeared in 1856, 1949, 1951 and 1953 are top 3 big flood in these area nearly hundred years.
The rivers in the west of Liaoning
Raoyang River, Liu River, Big Ling River and Small Ling River in the west of Liaoning Province and the Laoha River in Inner Mongolia are aslo the places where have a lot of floods and high magnitude of deluge. There are some big deluges such as the flood in 1930 in history and the floods in 1962 and 1963 after the founding of the people's Republic of China. Among these, the most serious flooding in 1930 caused the highest water level nearly hundred years in the west of Liao River; the flooding in 1962 in Laoha River was the biggest flooding in the upper stream of West Liao River; the regional distubution of the flooding in 1963 and 1930 are similar. These area and the downstream of Yalu River are both the area where have the biggest numbers of flooding peak modulus in the northeast.
Liaotung peninsula
Liaotung peninsula is located between the Bohai Sea and Shore of Yellow Sea, next to the downstream of Yalu River and there are a lot of floos too. If the center of the big flood is in the downstream of Yalu River, these areas will also have big flood, just like the flood in 1888 and 1960. Besides, there are also independent flooding in these areas, such as the flood which have been investigates in 1844, 1879, 1913, 1934 and 1937, and the flood which have been actually measured in 1953, 1962, 1973 and 1981.
Changbai mountain and the area nearby
Originated in the Changbai Mountains, Toudao River, Erdao River, Mudan River, Yalu River, Tumen River, and Muling River, Suifen River, are in the north of typhoon channel, and these rivers basin is one of the main flood area in northeast area, with a high synchronization of these rivers flood, and a high flood level. 1914,1928,1938,1957, 1960,1965,1995 are the years with sever floods, and the flood peak flow of these years can rank No.1-No.6 in the nearly hundred years.
Hulan River and Tangwang River District
Hulan River and Tangwang River are located in the southwest slope of Xingan mountains, which is a central area of rainstorm flood, and the flood often produced by the same storm. 1911、1932、1945、1961、1962 and 1985 are the years with sever floods, and the flood peak flow of these years can rank No.1-No.5.
Nen River system
The west, north and east of Nen River is surrounded by Xing'an mountain with open plains in the south, forming a large bell mouth from north to south. Affected by the terrain and weather conditions, long duration rainfall often occurs in this area. Because the valley of tributaries is open , the river bed has a limited gradient, and it takes a long time to form the river, there will be a big flood in the basin in a year which is with much rainfall. The flood was characterized by high peak and large volume and long flood process. Because the water catchment area is big, some flood produced in the whole water system (1988 and 1998), some of the year flood occurred in the river in the upper reaches (as of 1991) , and also some of the flood occurred in the middle and lower reaches of the water system (such as 1932). However,no matter which area the flood came from, there would be great flood in the middle and lower reaches. The years with great floods that has been recorded in the last hundred years are 1929,1932,1953,1956,1957,1969,1988,1989,1991, and 1998 .
