Loss statistics of Zhouqu debris flow disaster

Introduction:

As early as August 8, 2010, a huge mudslide struck the Zhouqu county, Gansu province, northwest of China. The disaster caused 1765 people to be missing or killed,besides destroying buildings and roads. According to the scope of the disaster loss assessment, 15 villages and 2 communities of Zhouqu county and Jiangpan township involved in this mudslide disaster.

The affected area was about 2.4 square kilometers and the number of the affected population was 26,470. This is the most serious mountain torrents and debris flows since the founding of new China.
