The UK's Computer Weekly magazine said in a report published on its website on November 5, 2015 that the government plans to upgrade its data infrastructure as part of "data revolution" for the public sector, according to Cabinet Office minister Matt Hancock. Hancock added that the "Government as a Platform"(GaaP) Programme led by the Government Digital Service (GDS) and the plans with a shifted focus from transactions to the platform construction will both depend on strong data foundations so as to avoid duplicating work among departments. A new GDS strategy is due to be published before December 25.
