On August 7th, 2020, the Memorandum of Understanding (the MoU) is signed between the Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service Sub-Platform (DRRKS), International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology of the Auspices of UNESCO, and Integrated Research on Disaster Risk International Programme Office (IRDR IPO).
On August 7th, 2020, the Memorandum of Understanding (“the MoU”) is signed between the Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service Sub-Platform (DRRKS) and Integrated Research on Disaster Risk International Programme Office (IRDR IPO). IKCEST DRRKS provides knowledge services at a global scale in the form of consultancies, scientific research and education for policy-makers, engineers, researchers and technicians in the field of disaster risk reduction, with particular reference to the developing countries. IRDR is devoted to developing trans-disciplinary, multi-sectorial alliance for: in-depth, practical disaster risk reduction research studies, and the implementation of effective evidence-based disaster risk policies and practices. Given their shared areas of interest, IKCEST and IRDR wish to form a collaborative partnership through this MOU.
The Parties agree to seek cooperation in areas where their objectives overlap, if appropriate the relevance in the form of:
a. Joint research and data projects;
b. Information and visitor exchanges and web portal linkages and mutual support and promotion;
c. Development of DRR courses and trainings;
d. Collaboration on DRR knowledge service products; and
e. Capacity building on young professionals.
