Since the establishment of the China, the natural disaster does much harm in our country but the reductive movement of government and society relieved the losses; at the same time, human behavior and objective changes increased the risk of natural disasters constantly. We will analyze the disasters from four aspects: the death population because of the disasters, the missing population because of the disasters, the influenced population because of the disasters and the direct economy losses because of the disasters.
In the early year of the new China, because of the low ability of prevention, the death and missing population reached millions yearly. With the capacity for disaster reduction continues to increase, the death and missing population decreased gradually. An average of 7000 people per year dead or missed between 1970s and 1980s (except 1975 and 1976), which decreased to 3000 people per year between 2000 and 2010 (expect 2008).The trend of constantly decreasing was interrupted several times because of the catastrophe- the catastrophic flood in Zhumadian City caused millions of people dead, the earthquake in Tangshan in 1976 caused 24.20000 people dead the earthquake in Wenchuan caused 69227 people dead and 17923 people missed in 2008. These catastrophe events made a large death and missing population in 1975, 1976 and 2008.
