There are two principles in choosing a campsite:
(1) Close to water but isn’t too close. Generally we choose open place, which is close to water but it’s not too close. Because of the need for water, accessing to water is more convenient. But you can't get too close to the water, especially in the summer. Because there may be more rain in summer, resulting in mountain flood and other disasters sometimes.
(2) Avoid steep slopes in case of injuries caused by falling rocks and landslides.
When you are camping, camping places should be on the slopes of leeward, shady or near the water, especially near the village. In this way, you can ask for the local villagers for help if you encounter some emergencies. If you want to sleep in the jungle, you must prevent insects and snakes from crawling in. A better precaution is to clear the weeds around the camp in time, dig a gutter around them and sprinkle some ashes.
When lighting a campfire or cooking, we should consider whether there are flammable objects around in case of fire.
