Main tributaries of Liaohe River-Jiaolai River and Liuhe River

Jiaolai River, one of the tributaries of West Liaohe River, originates from Zhaowuda League, a hilly area and transitional area of Liaoxi and Liaohe River plains. After flowing into Zhe League, its middle stream passes a dune meadow area and the lower stream enters Liao River plains, and finally joins West Liaohe River in Tongliao county. It has a total length of 559 km and an area of 12,863 square km.

Liuhe River, a tributary of Liao River, has a thick silt concentration and lots of floods, originating from the eastern slope of Shuangshanzi in Naiman League. The confluence of Yangxumu River and Houhen River is called Liu River. It flows through Kulun League, Fuxin county and Zhangwu county in Liaoning Province, and joins Liao River in Xinmin county. It has a total length of 271.6 km and a drainage area of 5791 square km(the area in Tongliao is 3098 square km), and an average annual runoff of 218 millions cubic meters.
