The earthquake in May 12, 2008 in Wenchuan was the most destructive, the most widespread and the most disastrous one after the establishment of the new country. It has a magnitude of 8, with a maximum intensity of 11 degrees and more than 30,000 aftershocks, covering ten provinces such as Sichuan, Gansu, Shanxi and Chongqing, 417 counties, 4667 towns and 48810 villages. The total area of the disaster is about 500,000 square kilometers and 46,250,000 people were affected. Among them, the hardest area was 130,000 square kilometers, caused the death of 69227 compatriots and the disappearance of 17,923 people, 15.1 million people needed emergency transfer. A lot of houses were collapsed and extensive foundation was damaged, the production in agriculture and industry and the environment had been seriously affected and also a lot of secondary disaster appeared following the earthquake such as collapse, landsides, mudslides and barrier lakes. The direct economy was up to 8452 billion.
