The preparatory work meeting of the Fifth International Workshop for Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service was held online on November 17, 2021. Mr. Soichiro Yasukawa, Programme Specialist and Coordinator for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience, Section on Earth Sciences and Geo-hazards Risk Reduction, Natural Sciences Sector, UNESCO, Dr. LIU Chang,Director of Division of International Cooperation of IKCEST, Ms.FANG Ying from IKCEST Secretariat, Prof. WANG Juanle, Executive Director of DRRKS and others from DRRKS attended the meeting.
The attendees consolidated the consensus of jointly holding The Fifth International Workshop for Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service. The theme of the workshop is suggested as “Open Science and Disaster Risk Reduction”, maybe including “Open Science for DRR Data”, “Open Science for DRR Knowledge”, “Open Science for DRR Application”. The workshop will include 5-6 expert reports, and panel discussion. Experts form Section on Science Policy and Partnerships Natural Sciences Sector, UNESCO and experts from South Africa, small island countries, and other related open science researches will be invited to participate in the report exchange and panel discussion.
