The online map of climate types in China is derived from the atlas of China National Geographic Map, prepared by the Editorial Committee of the China National Geographic Map, and published by China Encyclopedia press in November 2011. The scale in the map is 1: 60000000 The map mainly labels temperate continental climate, temperate monsoon climate, plateau and alpine climate, subtropical monsoon climate, and tropical monsoon climate.
Diverse climate types: China has a vast territory, spanning from cold to temperate, moderate to warm, temperate, subtropical, and tropical climate zones from north to south. The North China Plain, the Loess Plateau and the Northeast Plain are temperate monsoon climates, with high temperatures and rain in summer, and cold and dry winters; the plains in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, southeast hills, the Sichuan Basin, and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau are subtropical monsoon climates, with hot and rainy summers and mild winters; and southern Taiwan and Leizhou Peninsula Hainan Island and southern Yunnan have a tropical monsoon climate. There is no winter and high temperatures and rain throughout the year. The northwest belongs to a temperate continental climate. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is high in altitude, ice and snow are everywhere in winter, and cool and pleasant in summer. It is a typical plateau climate in the world.
