In 2014, the disaster situation in Jiangxi Province was lighter than that in recent years, with flood, hail and typhoon disasters as the main disasters, the affected population, the area affected by crops and the area with no crops were the lowest in recent years.
1.High rainfall intensity, and serious flood break and typhoon disaster losses
From April to August, the average rainfall of the whole province is 1144.8 mm, which is more than 10% more than that of the same period of the year (1028.7 mm). From April to September, there were 15 rainfall events in the whole province. Among them, in late May, mid June and mid August, rainstorms and torrential rains occurred successively, with heavy rainfall and strong intensity, resulting in floods, landslides and other disasters, resulting in casualties, mass transfer, house damage, crop disaster, and serious losses. In late July, affected by Typhoon "Matmo", rainstorms and severe rainstorms occurred in some parts of North Central China. The rainfall of 60 stations in 24 counties (cities and districts) exceeded 100 mm. Among them, 4 stations in De'an County had rainfall of more than 300 mm, causing 10 deaths.
