Work Experience

From 1956 to 1971 he worked as a technician and research practitioner at the Institute of Civil Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (now the Institute of Engineering Mechanics, China Earthquake Administration). From 1971 to 1978 he was a research intern at the Beijing Earthquake Team. After 1978 he has been working in the China Academy of Building Research, served as director，deputy director, chief consultant, senior engineer, researcher, doctoral tutor of the Institute of Engineering Earthquake Research Institute. In 1997 he was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After 2000, he was also appointed professor and doctoral supervisor of Beijing University of Architecture. He was appointed as deputy director of academic committee of the school, director of Beijing Key Laboratory of earthquake and structure diagnosis and control, director of earthquake disaster reduction research institute and Beijing city and engineering safety Director of Disaster Reduction Center

Achievement

Won the National Science and Technology Conference Award； National Science and Technology Progress Award two, three prize； Beijing and the provincial and ministerial level more than two scientific and technological progress awards
