The online map of China's main energy and mineral resources is derived from the atlas of China National Geographic Map, prepared by the Editorial Committee of the China National Geographic Map, and published by China Encyclopedia Press in November 2011. The scale in the map is 1: 60000000, the figure can see the distribution of coal, oil, natural gas and other energy resources in various regions of the country.
Northeast China, Northwest China, and Southwest China have coal resources distributed. About 60% of these coal resources are concentrated in North China. The junction of Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, and Shaanxi is known as the "Ukin Triangle".Shenfu Coalfield is located here, and Guizhou and Xincha are also provinces with abundant coal resources.
China has great potential for petroleum resources. However, due to the difficulty of oil exploration and extraction technology, oil production cannot meet the needs of economic development. At present, coal still plays a dominant role in China's energy consumption composition. China's proven oil resources are mainly concentrated in the Northeast, North China, and Xinbei areas on the mainland. Famous oilfields include Daqing, Shengli, Liaohe, North China, Central Plains, and Karamay. The sedimentary basins in China's offshore areas also contain abundant oil.
