Chinese desert and desertification distribution

In our country, land desertification is mainly caused by excessive reclamation, overgrazing, overexploitation, overexploitation and abuse of water resources. The deep reason is overpopulation and excessive consumption of natural resources by survival and development. According to the "China's Bulletin on Desertification and Desertification" published in 2005, by the end of 2004 the area of desertified land in China was 2674,000 square meters, accounting for 27.8% of the total land area. Among them, the area of desertified land is 173.97 million square kilometers, accounting for 18.12% of the land area of the whole country. The total area of desertified land is 205,000 square kilometers. 87% of Ningxia, 61% of Xinjiang, 59% of Inner Mongolia, 56% of Qinghai and 48% of Gansu occur desertification and desertification. 133,000 square kilometers of farmland in North China, Northeast and Northwest China are attacked by wind and sand. In June 2005, the Chinese government approved the National Desertification Control Plan (2005-2010). Four key projects for desertification control were identified: Beijing-Tianjin Sandstorm Source Control Project, the Fourth Phase of "Three North" Shelterbelt System Construction Project, the Project of Converting Farmland to Forestry and Grassland, and the Project of Grassland Desertification Control.
