The online map of China ’s major non-energy mineral resources is derived from the atlas of China National Geographic Map, prepared by the Editorial Committee of the China National Geographic Map, and published by China Encyclopedia Press in November 2011. The scale in the map is 1:60000000, the picture can see the distribution of non-energy minerals such as sulphur iron, fluorite, asbestos, magnesite, phosphorus, mica, salt mines, gold, lead and zinc, etc.
The detailed rules for the implementation of the mineral resources law of the people's Republic of China lists the classification details of the discovered mineral resources in China. There are four categories of energy minerals, metal minerals, non-metal minerals and water and gas minerals, among which the underground water has the dual nature of mineral and water resources.
China is one of the few major mining nations in the world with rich mineral resources and relatively high levels of mineral resources. The characteristics of China's mineral resources are:① The mineral types are relatively complete. ② The total amount of mineral resources is abundant. ③ Low per capita possession. In terms of total volume, China is a large country in resources and mining, but its per capita possession is only half of the world's per capita level, ranking 80th in the world.④Some important mineral resources are in short supply and have long relied on world mining markets, such as iron-rich ore, copper ore, and potassium salts. ⑤ There are few large-scale world-class deposits in China, and many small and medium-sized deposits. ⑥ China's mineral resources have few rich ore and many poor ore. More than 80% of non-ferrous metal mines in China are associated with multiple elements, which brings a lot of difficulties to the beneficiation process and process development, affecting the development and utilization of the deposit.
