According to the national average wind speed distribution map, we can see that China's wind resources are more abundant areas mainly concentrated in the following areas: the three northern regions (northeast, north, northwest), southeast coast and nearby islands, inland individual rich points As well as offshore wind energy resource-rich areas.
Coastal areas and its islands include Liao, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan, the region is the most abundant region of China's wind resources.
Coastal wind speed distribution in the overall show the following rules: from the coastline near the sea area and road area (about 10km or so), the wind speed can reach 7m / s to 8m / s; farther away from the coastline of the sea area (10km to 300km ), Wind speed of 8m / s or more; and 10km away from the coastline of the inland area will be rapidly reduced wind speed, probably in 6m / s to 7m / s. In addition, in Fujian, Zhejiang coastal areas and the Taiwan Strait area, wind speed is quite large, the average wind speed of 9m / s or more, has a very rich wind resources.
The northeastern, north and northwest wind energy rich belts mainly include the northeastern provinces, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Gansu, Ningxia and Xinjiang.
1, Northeast
Northeast wind resources are mainly distributed in the east and west, the central region of wind resources is relatively small. The eastern region of the largest annual average wind speed of 8m / s or more, generally can reach 6m / s to 7m / s or more. The annual average wind speed in the western region is basically 6m / s to 7m / s, and the distribution is more extensive. In general, the northeast wind resources are rich, the development of a larger value.
2, Inner Mongolia and its surrounding areas
Inner Mongolia is the largest inland wind resources in the province, the wind resource is characterized by large wind and wide distribution. Its main wind resources are located in the northeast of Inner Mongolia. The maximum annual average wind speed in this region is more than 9m / s, and the annual average wind speed in most areas is above 6 to 7m / s, and the coverage area is very wide.
The surrounding areas of wind better areas are: Gansu, Ningxia, northern Shanxi and northern Hebei. Wind speed in these areas is also great, the annual average wind speed of 6 to 7m / s or more, and widely distributed, contains a large wind energy can be developed.
3, Xinjiang
Xinjiang's terrain presents the following characteristics: the mountains and the basin and arranged in a row, the basin is surrounded by mountains, popular "three mountains folder two pots." North Altai Mountains, south of the Kunlun Mountains, the Tianshan Mountains lie in the middle, the Xinjiang is divided into north and south halves, the Tarim Basin in the south, the Qaidam Basin in the north. Therefore, Xinjiang's wind resources are mainly distributed in the northern Altai Mountains, the central Tianshan Mountains and the southern Kunlun Mountains. The wind speed in these areas is large, the maximum annual average wind speed is 8 to 9m / s, and the annual average wind speed can reach 6 to 7m / s in the areas with low wind speed, which has good development value. The central region is located in the Qaidam Basin and the Tarim Basin, affected by topography, wind speed is very small, very scarce wind resources.
In general, the distribution of wind resources in the inland areas of China is relatively scattered, not as concentrated in the coastal areas and the three northern regions, the total wind energy content is less, but in some areas there are some wind resources are more abundant region.
1, Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and Southwest Sichuan
This region mainly includes Yunnan, Guizhou and southwestern Sichuan and other regions. This region belongs to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, higher elevation, and mountainous, warm and wet air flow is the intersection area, the wind resources are more abundant. In the region with better wind conditions, the annual average wind speed can reach more than 6m / s, and the distribution is more extensive. Although the air density is reduced due to the high altitude of the plateau, the wind density will decrease. But still has a good development and utilization value.
2, northern Guangdong and Guangxi, southern Hunan and southern Jiangxi
The maximum annual average wind speed in this region can reach more than 9m / s, and the distribution area is more extensive, the other wind speed smaller areas of the annual average wind speed can reach 6m / s to 7m / s. And the region is generally not high altitude, mostly between 200m to 500m, the reserves of wind energy is very rich, with a very considerable development and utilization value.
3, central Hunan, central Jiangxi and western Zhejiang
The large annual average wind speed in this area is mainly distributed in the area of 6m / s to 7m / s, and its main areas are located in central Hunan, central Jiangxi and western Zhejiang. The distribution area is wider, the wind speed has the development utilization value.
4, eastern Sichuan, Hubei, central and eastern parts of southern Shaanxi
There are three abundant wind resource zones in the region: the Dabie Mountains in eastern Hubei, the Daba Mountains in eastern Sichuan and the Qinling Mountains in southern Shaanxi. The annual average wind speed can reach more than 8m / s, with a large wind energy development value.
5, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
This region mainly includes Tibet, Qinghai and western Sichuan and other regions. Although the annual average wind speed is very large and the distribution area is very wide, the average annual wind speed in most areas can reach more than 7m / s, some areas even reach 8m / s to 9m / s, but because of its high altitude, Air density is too much, which contains the wind but very small, and even far less than some of the wind speed of the eastern and western regions, are poor areas of wind energy, can be developed value is not.
The distribution of wind resources in China is generally superior to that of the south in the north and the coastal areas are superior to the inland areas. The coastal regions and the three northern regions (northeast, northwest and north China) are the two regions with the most abundant and concentrated wind resources in China. Development prospects are very broad. In general, wind resources in inland areas are relatively scarce and scattered. However, due to the special terrain and landforms, such as large lakes and high mountains, some local wind resource-rich areas will be formed in some areas, which have certain development and utilization value.
