It is made up of the Australian government, volunteers and the private sector. It uses a coordinated approach to emergencies, including prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.Australian emergency management has four departments: Australian Security Coordination Section, Australian crisis coordination office, Australian crisis support section and Australian natural disaster recovery planning section. Australian emergency management reduces the impact of natural and man-made disasters on Australian society and is responsible for disaster relief.
