Introduction
"The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) was formed on 1 July 2017, as a result of merging the Department of Commerce and Department of Mines and Petroleum. Its mission is to support a safe, fair and responsible future for the Western Australian community, industry and resources sector. DMIRS’ organisational structure has consolidated its operations under six groups to ensure the community and industry receives excellent service."
