This dataset gives the number of doctors (doctors) per 1,000 population, including generalists and specialists. Doctors are defined as doctors who research, diagnose, treat and prevent human diseases, illnesses, injuries and other physical and mental disorders through the application of modern medicine. They also plan, monitor, and evaluate the care and treatment plans of other health care providers. The World Health Organization estimates that fewer than 3.1 health workers per 2 people (doctors, nurses and midwives alone) are not enough to meet primary health care needs.
