The team of Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service System of IKCEST went to Russia Far East for discussion and exchange

Introduction

During May 25- June 2, 2019, the team of Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service System of IKCEST departed to Vladivostok city for implementing special exchange program of Chinese academy of sciences. The team has access to Pacific Oceanographic Institute, Pacific Geographical Institute, WWF RUSSIA amur branch, and the Far Eastern Federal University.

Content

From May 25 to June 2, the team of Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service System of IKCEST went to the Russian far east to implement the 2019 Chinese academy of sciences special exchange program project "Considering of climate risks in travels in Russia and China and between countries: key technology research and development of an decision support system for the rational choice of destinations".

According to the plan, the team conducted academic discussions and field trips in Russian far east, and visited Pacific Oceanographic Institute, Pacific Geographical Institute, WWF RUSSIA amur branch, Russian Far Eastern Federal University and Russian Marine nature reserve.

During the exchange in the Pacific Oceanographic Institute, director Vyacheslav b. Lobanov introduced the basic situation of the institute in Marine ecological protection, Marine pollution and disaster prevention. The two sides discussed the development and utilization of video big data for Marine disasters.

During the communication in the Pacific Geographical Institute and Russian Far Eastern Federal university, Prof. Wang Juanle made the academic report "International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the Auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST): the mission and progress of Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service" and "Resources and environment research in the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor" respectively, The two sides held on-site discussions and exchanges on the impact of climate disasters on tourism in the Russian far east region.

Under the support of Pacific Oceanographic Institute, the research group went to Russian Marine nature reserve for field investigation and conducted an in-depth investigation on the disaster data collection and management of Cape Schultz Marine ecological protection station.
