Brief introduction

Libya is located in North Africa, with its northern coast bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Being part of the Mediterranean region, it holds a significant strategic position. Much of the country's territory falls within desert regions, leading to severe desertification and a scarcity of freshwater resources. Along the Mediterranean coastline, particularly during the summer, Libya can be affected by tropical cyclones and hurricanes, which can result in flooding and storm surges. Furthermore, due to climate change, the frequency and severity of extreme weather events are on the rise, which may increase the risk of more natural disasters.
