Brief Introduction

Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao: ສາ ທາ ລະ ນະ ລັດ ປະ ຊາ ທິ ປະ ໄຕ ປະ ຊາ ຊົນ ລາວ, Latin: Sathalanalat Paxathipatai Paxaxon Lao), referred to as Lao (Lao: ເມືອງ ລາວ, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore, said Laos), is a landlocked country on the Indochina Peninsula.

The history of Laos was part of the real kingdom. 13 to 18 century is the southern palm, after the invasion by Siam and Vietnam, and later by the French invasion, in 1893 became a French colony. Independence in 1945, the abolition of the monarchy in 1975 to establish a republic. Laos is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and one of the least developed countries and joined ASEAN in July 1997.

Lao industrial base is weak, to sawing, rice-based light industry and tin-based mining industry is the most important sector. The Golden Triangle Laos part of the Langnan tower was once the world's largest place to produce opium.

The Laotian diet is close to Thailand. It is also one of the only two socialist countries in Southeast Asia and the other for Vietnam.
