Introduction
Founded in 1961, Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereafter referred to as Xinjiang Biogeography) is a national scientific and technological force deployed by Chinese Academy of Sciences in Xinjiang.The Institute is oriented to the frontier of science and technology in the field of ecology and environment in arid areas, the major needs of the national Silk Road Economic Belt construction, the general goal of social stability and long-term peace and stability in Xinjiang, and focuses on the major issues of natural resource exploitation, ecological restoration, environmental governance, biodiversity conservation and regional sustainable development in arid areas.Economic belt on the silk road ecological, environmental monitoring and assessment, regional water resource utilization and ecological security, mineral exploration of xinjiang and central Asia and environmental governance, strategic biological resource sustainable utilization in arid areas, xinjiang farmers' income and regional development research, innovation arid oasis desert restore natural geography, ecology, agriculture ecology theory and method system,China will play an irreplaceable leading role in the field of ecology and environment in the arid region of Central Asia.
