The second session of the First Governing Board of International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the auspices of UNESCO (shortened as "IKCEST") was held in the headquarters of the Chinese Academy of Engineering on September 5, 2016. The meeting heard and deliberated on the IKCEST 2016 Work Report made by the IKCEST Secretariat, and all attending board members gave their recognition of the work undertaken by IKCEST in 2016.
Representing United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (shortened as "UNESCO"), Hans D. Thulstrup, Programme Specialist for Natural Sciences of the UNESCO Beijing Office, remarked that the IKCEST 2016 Work Report was comprehensive and informative and that UNESCO wished to express its appreciation of and gratitude for the progress IKCEST made in 2016, as well as the support and contributions IKCEST made to UNESCO. The meeting reviewed and adopted the IKCEST Biennial Report (2015-2016) and the IKCEST Biennial Work Plan (2017-2018) drafted by the IKCEST Secretariat.
