On September 29, 2020, the preparatory work meeting of the Fourth International Workshop for Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service was held online. Mr. Soichiro Yasukawa, Programme Specialist and Coordinator for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience of UNSCO, Dr. LIU Chang, the director of Division of International Cooperation of IKCEST, Fang Ying from IKCEST Secretariat, Prof. WANG Juanle, Executive Director of Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service (DRRKS) and others from DRRKS attended the meeting.
On September 29, 2020, the preparatory work meeting of the Fourth International Workshop for Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service was held online. The attendees reviewed the course of on-site exchanges at UNESCO headquarters in Paris in previous years, and consolidated the consensus of jointly holding the International Workshop for Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service. Suggestions for the preparation of the meeting are as follows:
1.Venue and time of the workshop: it is preliminarily suggested that the 4th International Workshop for Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service should be held online in the first week of December 2020 for one day.
2.The theme of the workshop is "disaster information science", including " disaster risk reduction knowledge service", " AI application in disaster prevention and mitigation", " Disaster prevention and mitigation education" and "COVID-19 prevention and control".
3.Guests and report: In this meeting, user representatives will be invited to participate in the report exchange, and other IKCEST sub centers will be invited to conduct report exchange in combination with the application of disaster risk reduction in smart city and other fields. The topic of " COVID-19 prevention and control" will invite the IKCEST to introduce the column of epidemic prevention and control. And the meeting planner should strengthen the cooperation with the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) in disaster risk reduction, and invite representatives to participate.
