Investigation Report on Ten-Year Reconstruction and Development of Wenchuan Earthquake

Introduction

2018 is the tenth anniversary of the Wenchuan earthquake. In order to fully demonstrate the achievements of reconstruction and development of the disaster areas, especially the innovative development achievements since the 18th National Congress, to summarize the "China experience" of post-disaster reconstruction and development, and to find out the problems in the reconstruction process, the research group organized a "survey of reconstruction and development of the Wenchuan earthquake-stricken areas" from November to February 2018. This survey adopts the random sampling method, and interviews the residents of the disaster-stricken areas with household questionnaires. The survey covered 30 disaster-stricken counties (cities and districts) in Chengdu, Deyang, Mianyang, Guangyuan and Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, of which 11 were extremely disaster-stricken counties (cities and districts) and 19 were disaster-stricken counties (cities and districts). Finally, a total of 4951 residents of 198 communities (villages, neighborhood committees, urban communities) were surveyed, and 3782 families were successfully visited, with a success rate of 76.4%. The survey results can infer that about 23 million people live in 30 affected counties (cities and districts).
