The general situation of Liaohe River

The lower reaches of the Liaohe River is located in the alluvial plain. The soil on both sides is loamy and sub clay. The terrain is flat and the river is winding and meandering, which belongs to a meandering channel. It is easy to be washed and collapsed when encountering flood. In history, Lialohe River has many natural cutoff rivers, so the more old river are existed.

After the interception of Liaohe River in 1958, Liaohe River flood sediment no longer input, so the section increases, and the main channel discharge capacity is 1000-2500 cubic meters per second. The river is a tidal river, the tide can be traced back to more than Sancha River. The Liaohe River flows to the southwest, Sancha River flows along Xiakanzi, Shifo, Shangjuntai, Tianzhuangtai, Shuiyuan to Rongxing Farm, folding in the southeast into Yingkou city.

In history, the lower reaches of the Liaohe River is also known as Yingchuan, the "Ying" refers to Yingkou city, "Chuan" refers to the river which is mainly through the Yingkou area.
