Poyang's lakebed is full of cracks in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province, Oct 30, 2013. China's largest freshwater lake, Poyang Lake's water level descends to extremely low due to less rainfall and decreasing upstream waters. Its current water level is 8.19 meters, slightly higher than the water level for a drought, which is 8 meters. Dry weather will keep influencing the water level and total area of Poyang Lake in the coming week, which will threaten agriculture, vegetation and migratory birds in Jiangxi province.
