Disaster assessment in January:
1.Low level seismic activity, and some buildings in earthquake areas are damaged.
In January, the level of seismic activity in mainland China was the lowest in the same period from 2010 to 2014, without earthquakes with magnitude of more than 5, and 6 earthquakes with magnitude of more than 4 occurred, the highest magnitude was the 4.8 magnitude earthquake in Bango County, Naqu District, Tibet Autonomous Region on January 17.
Among them, the 4.3 magnitude earthquake in Rushan City, Shandong Province on January 7, the 4.4 magnitude earthquake in Huaping County, Yunnan Province on January 15, the 4.8 magnitude earthquake in Bango County, Tibet Autonomous Region on January 17, and the 4.6 magnitude earthquake in Jinghong City, Yunnan Province on January 28, all caused damage to thousands of houses.
2.Greater impact of the low temperature and snow disaster in the southwest, and the drought in the northern winter wheat area is beginning to appear.
In the middle and late January, snowfall or sleet occurred in Southwest China, with obvious cooling in some areas. Greenhouses in Yunnan and Sichuan were crushed, vegetables were frozen, and agricultural production was affected to a certain extent. From the beginning of 2013 to the beginning of 2014, the precipitation in the northern winter wheat area was 30-50% less than that of the same period of the year. The precipitation in Henan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Hebei, Shanxi and other provinces was 40-60% less than that of the same period of the year. The temperature was high, and the water from the main rivers was 40-70% less than that in the same period of the year. In some areas, the drought began to appear.
