The Republic of the Sudan (Arabic: جمهورية السودان; English: Republic of the Sudan), located in northeast Africa, on the Red Sea coast, at the eastern end of the Sahara desert. Sudan covers an area of 1886068 square kilometers, the third largest in Africa and the 15th in the world.The capital is Khartoum.
Sudan has a single economic structure, mainly agriculture and animal husbandry, backward industry, weak foundation and strong dependence on nature and foreign aid. Sudan is one of the world's least developed countries declared by the United Nations. It has been rated as "the most unstable country in the world" by the list of failed countries index.
On April 11, 2019, the Sudanese military launched a coup, and President Bashir, who has been in power for nearly 30 years, stepped down. Sudan's defense minister, Mohamed Ahmed Ibn ORF, announced the overthrow of President Bashir's regime and the country entered a state of emergency.
