Due to the rapid population growth and the impact of the war, the food is insufficient, and the annual food shortage is about 30%. The civil war and massacre in 1994 caused the economy of Rwanda to collapse and its finance dried up. After the establishment of the new government, a series of measures have been taken to restore the economy, such as issuing new currency, devaluing Lulang by 70%, implementing free floating exchange rate, reforming tax system and privatization, the economy has grown year by year, and the national reconstruction has achieved initial results, and the economy has exceeded the level before the war (1990).
