Algeria (Arabic: الجزائر), full name of the people's Democratic Republic of Algeria, is located in northern Africa. The official language is Algerian Arabic and French is spoken. Islam is the state religion. The capital is Algiers.
In 2013, Algeria had a total population of 37.9 million. Most of them are Arabs, followed by Berbers (about 20% of the total population).
