The Republic of Togo (French: République Togolaise) is one of the West African countries, east to Benin, north to Burkina Faso, West to Garner, and south to a small section of coastline facing Guinea Bay.
Lome is the capital and largest city of Togo. The country is divided into five economic zones: coastal area, plateau area, central region, Kara district and grassland area. Lome is located in the southwest of Togo, bordering on the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean in the south, the southern end of the city is surrounded by more than ten kilometers of flat sand, with a total area of 333 square kilometers, of which 30 square kilometers are lagoons, with an urban area of 120 square kilometers and a population of 800000. It belongs to tropical rain forest climate. The annual average temperature is 27 ℃, and July and August are relatively cool, and the annual average rainfall is 764mm.
On October 28, 2015, the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly today reelected members of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Togo was successfully elected for a term from 2016 to 2018.
The main mineral resource is phosphate, which is the third largest producer in sub Saharan Africa. As of 2014, proven reserves: 260 million tons of high-quality ore, and about 1 billion tons of carbonate. Other minerals include limestone, marble, iron and manganese.
