The Earthquake Commision is a New Zealand Crown entity investing in natural disaster research, education and providing insurance to residential property owners.
The Earthquake and War Damages Commission began in 1945 following the 1942 Wairarapa Earthquake. In the over 70 years since, the role of EQC has changed significantly.
"This is EQC" is a short video that gives an overview into the functions EQC is charged with performing - before, during and after a natural disaster – to support New Zealanders and their communities.
