Introduction
The United Nations Development Programme is the United Nations global network for development. We advocate change and provide knowledge, experience and resources to all countries to help people create a better life. We provide development assistance in 166 countries, and through cooperation with these countries, we help countries to meet the global and domestic development challenges they face. Together with its wide range of partners, UNDP helps countries build their own capacity. World leaders have pledged to achieve the millennium development goals, the first of which is to halve the world's poor by 2015. The UNDP network coordinates global and national efforts to achieve these goals. We focus on how to help countries find and share solutions to challenges with others. These include democratic governance, poverty reduction, crisis prevention and recovery, environment and energy, and HIV / AIDS. We help developing countries attract and use aid effectively. In all the work we do, we encourage the protection of human rights and the empowerment of women. The annual human development report, commissioned by the United Nations Development Programme, focuses on the global debate on major development issues, providing new assessment tools, innovative analysis and often controversial policy recommendations. The analytical framework and inclusive analytical approach of global reporting are also used in regional, national and regional human development reports, which are also supported by the United Nations Development Programme. The representative of the UNDP Country Office is usually also the coordinator of the United Nations system in the country. Through its coordination, the United Nations development programme ensures the most effective use of United Nations and international aid resources.
