Introduction
The National Center for disaster reduction was established in April 2002 and officially put into operation in May 2003. The satellite disaster reduction application center was added in February 2009 and transferred to the emergency management department in April 2018. The center mainly undertakes the functions of national disaster reduction and relief data information management, disaster and risk assessment, product service, space science and technology application, research on science and technology, policies and regulations, research and development of technical equipment and relief materials, publicity, education and training, international cooperation and exchange, and provides information services, technical support and decision-making consultation for the government's disaster reduction and relief work.
