Introduction
NRAE is the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment, established on January 1, 2020, by the merger of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research INRA and the French National Institute for Environmental Science and Technology IRSTEA and Agriculture. INRAE was formed by the merger of INRA, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research, and IRSTEA, the French National Institute for Environmental and Agricultural Science and Technology. Both institutes are known for the quality of their research and the wealth of their expertise. Their alliance generates significant research forces and brings together their major infrastructures (e.g. observatories, technology platforms, data repositories), some of which are unique in Europe. INRAE is therefore ideally suited to conduct valuable research on numerous topics, including water resources, regional agricultural strategies, biodiversity conservation and restoration, risk prediction and management, and digital agriculture.
